Children who have severe anxiety, inabilities to cooperate due to their young age, or certain medical conditions are candidates for general anesthesia. General anesthesia uses medications to make the child unconscious and asleep while receiving dental care. It’s performed in a hospital setting and is provided by a specially trained physician or dentist who works in conjunction with the pediatric dentist to complete the dental treatment.
We have privileges at the following hospitals where treatment under general anesthesia can be completed:
- Abbotsford Regional Hospital
- BC’s Children’s Hospital
